WEEK 11 (5 OCTOBER 2010)




Today, I have learnt about ADDIE Model.

ADDIE Model (Dick, W., & Carey, L. (1996) & Leshin, C. B., Pollock, J.,

Five-phase instructional design model


-Analysis,


-Design,


-Development,


-Implementation,


-Evaluation


Identifies the learning problem (why need to develop?),

-The goals and objectives,

-The audience’s needs,

-Existing knowledge (in science, which to be focused? Is it

scientific knowledge, skills acquisition, scientific attitudes?),

-Any other relevant characteristics (eg. Which ID to use? Eg)

-Learning environment (science lab?, computer lab?, etc.),

-Any constraints (availability of electricity? Designer ? Etc),

-Ahe delivery options (on-line?, off-line?), and

-The timeline for the project

The actual creation (production) of the
content and learning materials based on the
Design phase

the plan is put into action:

-A procedure for training the learner and
teacher is developed

-Materials are delivered or distributed to the
student group

-After delivery, the effectiveness of the
training materials is evaluated

Consists of

-Formative evaluation: present in each stage of the
ADDIE

-Summative evaluation: consists of tests designed
for criterion-related referenced items and/or
providing opportunities for feedback from the
users

-Based on feedback, revisions are made as
necessary
